Hi,

I'm trying to reconstruct Snells Nook Halt on the Charnwood Forest Railway. No known photographs exist except for a nearby bridge. The only other evidence I have is a LNWR plan of the halt and 1/2500 OS maps. I'm trying to add as many LNWR features as possible. I also used an impression of Thringstone Halt in Andrew Moores book Leicestershire stations.

I've included a picture of the work I've done so far to give you an idea of the layout of the site......

There is still a lot of work and detail before the above model is complete.

According to the LNWR plans the platform didn't have ramps and didn't comply with rules on clearance between the platform and track - however perhaps such rules didn't apply to minor halts ?

Can anyone tell me if the following signs would have been used at a LNWR halt and where would they have been positioned .....

Many thanks.

Cheers
Paul
