I came across this image which may be of interest, as it shows the Post Office attendant's hut painted buff.
A detail for the livery register.

Yes, interesting.

This picture is from Railways in the Years of Pre-eminence by O.S.Nock (Blandford Press, 1971) illustrated by Clifford and Wendy Meadway.

The colour of the hut may well be correct of course, but it would be good to know exactly what source the Meadways used.
