Can anyone help with the following enquiry please? I have replied saying that there could be several bridges with the same number.

"I have just restored an original L & N W R Co Bridge plate Number 110, which is also my house number, I obtained it through E-Bay last year, needless to say that I would love to know where bridge 110 was or still might be. Your help in this matter would be very much appreciated. with many thanks in anticipation."

Bridges were numbered from 1 upwards starting at Euston to (I think) 332 at Birmingham. Branch lines were numbered from 1 upwards from each junction. So there were lots of bridges No.1, one only of Bridge 332. 110 is quite a high number and there would be only a few of them (exactly how many I cannot say).

Bridge 110 on the WC Main Line will probably still exist (but may have been abolished or reconstructed at the electrification). It would (I think) have been between Tring and Leighton.

bridge 110 on the L&B section is the first overbridge south of Tring
bridge 110 on the Stour Valley is the footbridge at Wolverhampton station
bridge 110 on the NU section is between Fanington and Farington Curve, the first overbridge after the L&Y one
bridge 110 on the L&C section is a viaduct north of Tebay

and so on, and so on, ...
