I was walking back from planning major demolitions at Old Oak Common Depot (To allow construction of the Crossrail depot I hasten to add!) towards Willesden Junction station when I spotted this road name.

There MUST be a a connection?

Regards

Peter,

I noticed this sign about 2 months ago travelling by bus from Willesden to Notting Hill Gate. The location must be very close to where Willesden MPD was situated. Regretably I have no map of the area.

Best wishes,

Brian.

It may be named in honour of the late Rita Webb (d.1981), who was born in Willesden?

I would think that there is very much an LWNR link, especially as the next but one street is named Crewe Place.

Aren't these streets in the LNWR housing near Willesden Junction? Didn't someone produce a book about LNWR Company Houses? A chap called Miller, I think. Yes, that's right, Bob Miller.

Now who was the publisher? Can someone help me out?
