Ted Talbot mentioned that I was researching the PW Dept. The information I have collected does not contain any details of fenceing. However, I believe that the components were manufactured and creosoted at the Company's Sleeper Works along with other woodwork for PW purposes. These were located (in time order) at Warrington Jockey Lane & Longsight/Longsight/Garston/Ditton and Mitre Bridge/Northampton.

if you contact Bluebell railway Museum tio view the John J Smith Collection there is a suitable photo showing the unclimbable fencing in use
ref: 4-31-7 'DN&GR no 3 on 4;45 freight Dundalk to Greenore entering Greenore 28 sept 1951'
