See below; my good friend John Wood has decided to dispose of his relics collection and in view of the Crewe connection I thought it worth placing on here under sales.

I shall be keeping in touch with him!

Peter Stanton

"Dear Friends and colleagues,

Happy new year.

Hanson’s Auctioneers are delighted to have been appointed to handle the sale of my important collection of railwayana. The auction will take place at their Etwall Salerooms on Wednesday 22nd February at 3pm. The auction will also be available to on-line bidders at their website www.hansonsauctioneers.co.uk. A press release is in prep and catalogue will be available on-line shortly.

The collection includes:

- The Crewe works former stock of steam loco nameplate patterns.
- Various nameplate mock ups as fitted to Coronation class locos for the official photos in “works grey” livery.
- Various cast iron infrastructure notices and loco plates.
- Paperwork/correspondence archives dealing with the naming of LMS and BR locos.
- LMS steam loco tender record cards.
- Blue Deltic daily running logs.

and other fascinating items of railway iron and brass work.

I hope you will not mind me asking if you could do me the favour of spreading the word to enthusiasts and other interested parties who you may know.
I will be delighted to hear from you if you would like any further details or just a general natter.
