My Dad found this recently and purchased it for me

Does anyone know anything about the association of St Johns to the LNWR?

I have a very vague idea that there might be some reference(s) in the minutes of the LNWR Officers' Conference. I haven't noted any references though. afaik there is no index, so you would have to read through all the books ...

... or I could be entirely wrong!

The railway industry and the first aid movement have always been close. This is confirmation that the support goes way back.

First Aid classes were thoroughly encouraged by British Rail and success in examinations was rewarded by extra leave. Competitions between departments were heavily encouraged with good funding.

I'm therefore pleased and not surprised to see the badge; I will share the picture with some ex BR colleagues!

Not hijacking as its on topic and doesnt need a new thread - so to speak.
I have an LNWR button, has same device as that in LNWR Liveries page 2 but with minor differences. For instance the train on the viaduct is moving in the opposite direction to that pictured in the book. Stamped on the back is S Compton and Son. Is this a real one ?
