I have found an excellent article on the Company's Bus Services and also a Fleet List, published by Local Transport Society. This is available to download in PDF format and print off (if desired?).
A BBC documentary titled 'The Golden Age of Coach Travel' and available on YouTube, features the splendid Leyland Torpedo Chara' No59.
This vehicle is now in the care of the London Transport Museum,Covent Garden. If you want to see it in the FLESH!

I am also interested in other 'fringe activities.e.g Motor Transport if 'North Western' as a progressive business had tried any of the then
available Vans and Lorries from new as opposed to 'convertions'.(N.B. Reading the Bus Fleet List mentioned in the above publication. There appears in footnotes, evidence that a total of thirty nine bus chassis were converted to Vans and Lorries from 1917)
Other not strictly rail functions such as Marine Craft and Hotels, are also of some interest.

Therefore if any member has knowledge of these activities please contribute.
Kind Regards
Melvyn J Sergeant (1958)
