First of all, apologies to Reg for the belated thanks for his suggestion on the provenance of the lift shaft. Always happy to do more research on the station!

Secondly, the Exhibition Room will be on this coming Sunday (10th September) as part of the Heritage Open Weekend initiative. I would be delighted to meet any members who can make it to Smethwick between 10.30am and 3.30pm that day. An added attraction is the opening of the Galton Valley Pumping Station just down North Western Road (not to mention Galton Bridge which features on this LNWR publicity postcard)

Peter, you're very welcome.

If you contact me by clicking on my name to send an email, I'd be happy to send you photos of the relevant pages of the Index to the LNWR Passenger Traffic Committee (1891 - 1922). I don't yet have copies of indexes to the General Traffic Committee (pre-1891). There is a lot of work to be done, and it progresses slowly!
